Woman Arrested for Killing Former Lover, Dismembering and Dumping Body

A 39-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly killing a man she was in a relationship with. She dismembered his body and buried the pieces in Kovalam, on the outskirts of Chennai. The police revealed that the woman, identified as a sex worker, was assisted by another man in committing the murder.

Missing Person Report

Last month, Pazhavanthangal police received a complaint from the victim’s sister, reporting that her brother had been missing since March 18 and his mobile phone was switched off. An FIR was registered on March 20, and the police began their search. Based on call records and other evidence, they discovered that he had gone to Pudukkottai to meet the woman, G Bakkiyalakshmi.

Confession and Arrest

When questioned by the police, Bakkiyalakshmi initially gave conflicting statements but later confessed to the murder. The victim was identified as a ground staff member at Chennai International Airport. He lived with his sister’s family near Nanganallur in Chennai.

Details of the Crime

According to a senior police officer, Bakkiyalakshmi claimed that she and the victim had a temple wedding a few years ago but later separated. On March 18, the man went to Pudukkottai to meet her, where she allegedly killed him with the help of another person. She then dismembered the body, packed the parts in plastic bags, and brought them to Kovalam to dump them.

The woman confessed to making two trips to the dumping site using a bus and a rental cab. The police have arrested Bakkiyalakshmi and are continuing their investigation to uncover more details about the crime.
