Engineering Student Beheads Friend in Revenge for Girlfriend’s Harassment

In a shocking incident, an engineering student in Telangana beheaded his friend, ripped out his heart, and mutilated his body in a gruesome act of revenge. The crime took place on February 18 at Pedda Amberpet, on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The victim, a 22-year-old tribal student from Mahatma Gandhi Engineering College in Nalgonda, was allegedly harassing the accused’s girlfriend.

The accused, P Hari Hara Krishna, 21, surrendered to Abdullapurmet police on Friday, confessing to the murder of his friend, N Naveen. Following his confession, the victim’s family staged protests at the police station, demanding justice.

During the police interrogation, it was revealed that Krishna and Naveen were classmates at their college in Dilsukhnagar. Naveen had been in a relationship with a girl during their college days, but they broke up after two years. The girl later started a relationship with Krishna. However, Naveen allegedly began harassing her with repeated calls and messages. Three months ago, she informed Krishna about this harassment, prompting him to take drastic action.

On February 17, Krishna invited Naveen to a get-together. After dinner at Krishna’s house in Dilsukhnagar, the two roamed around the city. In the evening, Naveen wanted to return to his college hostel in Narketpally, Nalgonda. Pretending to drive him back, Krishna took Naveen to a deserted area in Pedda Amberpet.

According to the police, Krishna consumed alcohol and purchased a knife. In the early hours of February 18, he argued with Naveen and strangled him with a rope. After the murder, Krishna beheaded Naveen, cut open his stomach, ripped out his heart, and mutilated his private parts and fingers before abandoning the body.

The victim’s family reported him missing to the Narketpally police in Nalgonda. The case came to light only after Krishna surrendered and confessed to the crime. He was arrested on charges of murder, destroying evidence, and violating the SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

This gruesome act has shocked the community and raised serious concerns about the extent of violence stemming from personal vendettas. The authorities are ensuring that justice is served in this tragic case.
