Woman Declared Dead 7 Years Ago Found Alive and Married; Man Wrongfully Jailed

In a shocking real-life case that seems straight out of a crime thriller, a woman who was declared dead seven years ago in Uttar Pradesh has been found alive, married, and living with her family. Meanwhile, a man had been serving a prison sentence for her alleged murder.

How the Case Unfolded

The woman reportedly eloped with her lover, got married, and moved to Hathras district. However, seven years ago, an unidentified body was found in Agra, which her father wrongly identified as hers. This led to the wrongful conviction of a man named Vishnu, who was accused of kidnapping and murdering her when she was a teenager.

Mother’s Fight for Justice

Vishnu’s mother never accepted the verdict and continued to fight for justice. She approached the Aligarh Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Kalanidhi Naithani, claiming she had proof that the “deceased” woman was alive and married with children. Based on her request, the police reopened the case and began an investigation.

Truth Comes to Light

The police eventually located the woman and presented her in Aligarh court. To confirm her identity, officials sought a DNA test. Shockingly, her father, who had previously identified a different body as hers, confirmed in court that she was indeed his daughter.

This case has raised serious concerns about wrongful convictions and the need for thorough investigations before declaring someone dead. The legal system is now expected to take further steps to correct this grave mistake and ensure justice is served.
