An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) of the Delhi police allegedly died by suicide by hanging himself at a plot in Brahmanagar, Sonepat, on August 22, 2022.
The police recovered a suicide note in which the ASI blamed his in-laws for driving him to this extreme step. He claimed that his in-laws had taken Rs 15 lakh from him and, instead of returning the money, had filed a false case against him.
Inspector Vazir Chand, SHO City, stated that a case has been registered against five individuals for abetment to suicide. These individuals include the deceased’s father-in-law, two brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law from Kateveda village in Delhi.
The deceased was identified as Satish Kumar, an ASI with the Delhi police. His son, Pankaj, informed the police that his mother had passed away in 2020. His maternal uncles had borrowed Rs 15 lakh from his father but never returned it.
The case is currently under investigation.
