Another Delhi Horror: Woman and Son Murder Husband, Chop Body, and Hide Parts in Fridge
The Delhi Police have arrested a woman for allegedly murdering her husband with the help of her son. The woman suspected her husband of having an extramarital affair. After the murder, the mother and son chopped up the body into 22 pieces, stored them in a fridge, and disposed of them across several East Delhi neighborhoods.
The body parts were first found in Pandav Nagar in June, leading to a murder case. However, the investigation stalled as the decomposed body pieces were hard to identify.
When details of the Shraddha Walkar murder case emerged earlier this month, investigators also considered if the unidentified body parts were hers.
During their investigation, the crime branch reviewed CCTV footage from the area where the body parts were discovered. The footage revealed the woman and her son frequently visited the area at night. Further probing revealed that Anjan Das, a resident of East Delhi’s Pandav Nagar, had been missing for about six months. Surprisingly, his family had not reported his disappearance to the police.
According to the police, the accused woman, Poonam, and her son, Deepak, killed Anjan in June. They gave him sleeping pills and murdered him after he became unconscious.
Shocking CCTV footage shows Deepak carrying a bag late at night, which police say contained body parts. His mother, Poonam, is seen following him. Another clip shows them making multiple trips during the day to gradually dispose of the body pieces.
