Delhi Cop’s Daughter Arrested for Injuring Parking Attendant with Car

On October 16, the daughter of an assistant commissioner of police was arrested after a valet parking attendant was reportedly injured by her car at a mall in Saket, Delhi.

Incident Details

The incident occurred around 9:35 PM when the complainant, Ram Ashish Kumar, a resident of Pilanji village, Sarojini Nagar, was on duty. He had just driven a car from the mall’s basement parking to hand it over to a guest.

In his complaint, Kumar stated, “As I stepped out of the car, an i20 car passed next to me and injured both my feet. My colleagues immediately took me to the hospital for treatment. I delayed filing the complaint as I was waiting for my family.”

Police Action

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chowdhary confirmed that Kumar was rushed to Max Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. Initially, no statement was recorded from Kumar on the day of the incident.

Based on his subsequent complaint, the police registered a case under Sections 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety) of the Indian Penal Code. An investigation is underway.
