Sonipat, Haryana: A 25-year-old man named Ashish tragically ended his life by consuming poison after reportedly being harassed by his wife and her family. The incident occurred in Ganaur town of Sonipat district. Ashish was rushed to Khanpur PGI hospital in critical condition but succumbed during treatment.
According to Ashish’s father, Krishna Kumar, the harassment began shortly after his marriage to Himanshi on April 20, 2022. Himanshi had been staying at her maternal home for over three months and refused to return, allegedly threatening Ashish with false accusations of rape and dowry demands.
Harassment Allegations
The father of the deceased claimed that whenever Ashish went to bring his wife back from her parents’ house, he was met with mental harassment. Himanshi’s family members reportedly abused him and threatened to implicate him in legal cases.
On Sunday, things escalated when Himanshi’s father, brother, and grandmother visited Ashish’s house and allegedly threatened him. Later that evening, Ashish consumed poison.
Family’s Statement
Krishna Kumar accused Himanshi, her parents (Rakesh and Annu), her brother (Shankar), and her grandmother (Murthy) of mentally torturing Ashish. The family alleges that constant harassment and threats pushed Ashish into a state of despair, ultimately leading to his death.
Police Investigation
An FIR has been registered against Himanshi and her family members. The case is currently under investigation, and authorities are collecting evidence to determine the full circumstances surrounding Ashish’s death.
This tragic incident highlights the severe impact of mental harassment in relationships and calls for a deeper understanding of emotional abuse and its consequences.
