12-Year-Old Boy Gang-Raped in Delhi: A Case That Shocks the Nation
A tragic incident has come to light in Delhi, where a 12-year-old boy was allegedly gang-raped and severely assaulted in the Seelampur area. The boy is currently in critical condition, and his family has lodged a complaint with the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).
The assault reportedly occurred on September 18 but was only reported on September 22. The DCW, which addresses cases of abuse and safety, is now involved in the investigation.
Delhi Police Deputy Commissioner Sanjay Sain stated that three minors were allegedly responsible for the attack. Two of them have already been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend the third suspect.
According to the boy’s parents, their son was not only sexually assaulted but also beaten with bricks and subjected to further violence using a rod. The child remains under medical observation. DCW Chairperson Swati Maliwal expressed grave concern over the boy’s condition, stating, “The boy is in critical condition and fighting for his life.”
The boy’s mother provided her statement on September 24 after undergoing extensive counseling. She revealed that her son was assaulted by three of his friends. Initially hesitant to speak, the family later informed authorities about the abuse.
Police have registered a case under the POCSO Act and sections related to unnatural offenses. One of the accused has been presented before the Juvenile Justice Board. Investigations are ongoing to ensure justice for the victim.
This horrific case underscores the urgent need for stricter measures to protect children from abuse and to hold perpetrators accountable.
