Two Men Arrested for Culpable Homicide in Ludhiana; Accomplice Still at Large
Ludhiana’s Tibba Police have arrested two men in connection with the death of their friend, who was dumped near a garbage dump after his health deteriorated from consuming alcohol. Instead of taking him to a doctor, the accused left him unconscious, leading to his death. The victim’s body was found by the police on July 14.
Initially, the victim remained unidentified until police reviewed CCTV footage showing two men on a scooter dumping the body. An eyewitness identified the men as Khushhal, also known as Bablu, from Raju Colony, and Shankar from Dhamotia Colony on Tibba Road. The police have apprehended both suspects. The victim has been identified as Katiaria, 25, though his full name is unknown as the accused had only known him for a few months.
The Tibba police have filed an FIR under Sections 105 (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 3(5) (act done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the BNS against Khushhal, Shankar, and their accomplice, Prince Sharma from National Colony, Bhamian Kalan, based on statements from ASI Mahinder Raj of Tibba police station.
The police are still searching for Prince Sharma, who is currently at large. This case highlights the importance of timely medical assistance and the severe consequences of neglecting to help those in need.
