Woman and Three Lawyers Arrested for Extortion with Fake Rape Case in Agra
Recently, Agra police arrested a woman and three lawyers who allegedly extorted ₹5 lakh by filing a fake rape case against a man. The woman, posing as a victim, and the lawyers conspired to extract money from the accused, Rahul Kumar.
Superintendent of Police Vikas Kumar reported that on June 24, a woman filed a complaint at Hari Parvat police station, accusing Rahul Kumar of rape. She claimed that Rahul lured her to a hotel under the pretext of a birthday party, where he drugged her, took obscene photos, and recorded videos. She also accused Rahul and his family of making threats.
Following her complaint, a case was registered against Rahul and his family under sections 376, 504, 506, and 328. Inspector Arvind Singh led the investigation with Sub-Inspector Neelam, who uncovered evidence proving the rape allegations were false.
The investigation revealed that lawyers from both sides, representing the victim and the accused, were involved in the extortion scheme. Based on these findings, a new case was filed at Hari Parvat police station against the woman and three lawyers: Jitendra Rajput, Nishant Kumar, and Shekhar Pratap Singh. Two other lawyers, including a woman, were identified as co-accused and are being searched for.
The woman and three lawyers were arrested, and ₹3.75 lakh in cash was recovered. They were charged under sections 388, 384, 420, 182, and 195 for filing a false case and extortion. Inspector Arvind Kumar confirmed that the four accused were presented in court on Wednesday and subsequently jailed.
This case highlights the severity of filing false allegations and the consequences of using legal systems for extortion. The Agra police remain vigilant against such fraudulent activities to ensure justice and protect innocent individuals from false accusations.
