In a bizarre incident, a 32-year-old woman bit three fingers of her elderly mother-in-law in a fit of anger after the latter turned off the television due to the loud volume. This unusual event occurred on Wednesday in Ambernath, located in Maharashtra’s Thane district.
The conflict started when Vrushali Kulkarni, 60, was reciting bhajans at home while her daughter-in-law, Vijaya Kulkarni, was watching television at a high volume.
“A fight broke out on Monday morning after Vrushali asked Vijaya to lower the TV volume while she was singing bhajans. When Vrushali turned off the television, the daughter-in-law grabbed her hand and bit three of her fingers. She also slapped her husband who tried to intervene,” explained a police official.
The injured mother-in-law lodged a complaint at the Shivajinagar police station, leading to a criminal offense being registered against the accused woman, the official added.
