Police Use Bulldozer to Enforce Woman’s Return to In-Laws’ House in Bijnor

In a shocking incident in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, police had to bring a bulldozer to ensure a woman could return to her in-laws’ house. This unusual event occurred on Monday.

Sher Singh, from Dhokalpur, married his daughter Nutan to Robin, son of Devendra Singh, five years ago. Soon after the marriage, Nutan’s in-laws started abusing her and demanding dowry. Eventually, they threw her out of the house. On June 23, 2019, Nutan’s father filed a domestic violence case against Robin at the Haldaur police station.

The Allahabad High Court ordered the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bijnor to allow Nutan to enter her in-laws’ house and ensure her safety. Following this, a police team accompanied Nutan to her in-laws’ house. Despite the officials’ efforts, the in-laws refused to open the door.

In response, the police called for a bulldozer. The sight of the bulldozer prompted the in-laws to finally open the door.

“The woman has been safely taken inside the house, following the court orders. We have also arranged for her safety,” said City SP Dr. Pravin Ranjan Singh.
