Tragic Suicide in Gurgaon: Executive Leaves Heartbreaking Note After Harassment Allegations
A senior executive in Gurgaon, Amit Kumar, tragically took his own life after facing severe allegations of sexual harassment at his workplace. In a devastating turn of events, he was found hanging from a ceiling fan at his residence in Sector 9 on Tuesday morning, leaving behind a four-page suicide note.
In his final words, Amit expressed profound regret for leaving his wife and 5-year-old son alone, citing unbearable humiliation due to the recent sexual harassment accusations made by a female colleague at the private company where he worked. His wife has accused his colleagues and the company of abetting his suicide.
The police have initiated an investigation following a complaint filed by his wife, with handwriting experts examining the suicide note penned by Amit. In it, he vehemently denied favoring any employee and expressed that his actions were driven solely by the allegations he faced at work.
Amit had recently joined Optum Global Solutions, a company specializing in digital healthcare services, just a month and a half ago. His cousin brother Mohit revealed that the family was unaware of his mental distress, despite hints from colleagues about ongoing issues at work.
An FIR has been lodged at the Sector 9A police station under Section 306 (abetment of suicide) of the IPC against the company and the colleagues involved. The investigation is ongoing to uncover the circumstances leading to this tragic incident.
