Delhi Cop’s Daughter Arrested for Injuring Valet Parking Attendant with Car
On October 16, the daughter of an assistant commissioner of police in Delhi was arrested for injuring a valet parking attendant with her car at a mall in Saket.
The incident occurred around 9:35 pm when the complainant, Ram Ashish Kumar, a resident of Pilanji village in Sarojini Nagar, was on duty. He had just driven a car out of the mall’s basement to hand it over to a guest.
“As I got out of the car, an i-20 car coming from the same basement passed right next to me and injured both my feet. My colleagues rushed me to a hospital for treatment. I did not file the complaint earlier as I was waiting for my family members,” Kumar wrote in his complaint.
DCP South, Chandan Chowdhary, stated, “He was taken to Max Hospital, where he is under treatment. On that day, he did not give any statement, but after receiving his complaint, a case under IPC sections 279 and 337 was registered and the investigation began.”
The case involves charges of rash driving (Section 279) and causing hurt by an act endangering life or personal safety (Section 337) of the Indian Penal Code.
