The Yeshwanthpur police have arrested a 27-year-old woman, Dilli Rani, for allegedly murdering her husband, Shankar Reddy, to reunite with her lover. The couple, originally from Andhra Pradesh, lived in Yeshwanthpur, Bengaluru, with their 7-year-old son.
The incident came to light on April 28, when their son woke up in the middle of the night to find his parents lying in a pool of blood. He immediately sought help from the landlord, who called the police. Shankar Reddy was declared dead at a nearby private hospital, while Rani had minor injuries on her hand.
Initially, Rani claimed that an unidentified man had broken into their house, attacked them with a knife, and stolen her gold chain. However, the police found discrepancies in her story. Investigators noticed no signs of forced entry, and her gold chain was still intact. They also determined that Rani’s injuries were self-inflicted to mislead the police.
