A 39-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering a man she was previously in a relationship with. After killing him, she chopped his body into pieces and buried them on the outskirts of Chennai in Kovalam. According to police, the woman, identified as G Bakkiyalakshmi, is a sex worker and had an accomplice who helped her commit the crime.
The incident came to light when the victim’s sister reported him missing on March 18. His phone was switched off, and he hadn’t been heard from since then. The Pazhavanthangal police registered a FIR on March 20 and launched an investigation. Based on call records and other evidence, police discovered that the victim had traveled to Pudukkottai to meet Bakkiyalakshmi.
Upon interrogation, Bakkiyalakshmi initially gave conflicting statements but later confessed to the crime. She revealed that the victim was a ground staff member at a private airline at Chennai International Airport and lived with his sister’s family in Nanganallur, Chennai.
The Murder and Disposal
According to a senior police officer, Bakkiyalakshmi claimed that she had a temple wedding with the victim a few years ago, but they eventually separated. The victim went to Pudukkottai on March 18 to meet her, and it was during this visit that she allegedly killed him with the help of another person.
After the murder, Bakkiyalakshmi dismembered the body, placed the pieces in plastic bags, and transported them to Kovalam, where she dumped them. She confessed to making multiple trips to the spot, using both a bus and a rental cab, to dispose of the body parts.
The police have arrested Bakkiyalakshmi, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further details of the crime.
