Woman Discovers Husband Is Gay After 3 Years, Files 498A Complaint
A 29-year-old woman from Shivamogga, Karnataka, has filed a police complaint accusing her husband of being gay. The complaint was lodged at the Jnanabharathi police station, leading to charges against the husband under IPC sections 498A (domestic violence), 420 (cheating), and 34 (acts by several persons with a common intention).
The couple married in 2020, but after two years without conceiving, the woman’s family began asking questions. Her husband suggested she undergo a medical examination but avoided physical intimacy.
“I was given unreasonable excuses whenever I approached him for intimacy. When questions arose about our compatibility, my husband made me undergo a medical test without revealing his sexual orientation,” she alleged.
The couple also tried In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), but it failed. Growing suspicious, the woman checked her husband’s social media and discovered he was gay.
In her complaint, she stated that upon confronting him, he allegedly assaulted her, forcing her to leave and return to her parents. He and his family tried to bring her back but were unsuccessful. The woman also claimed that he threatened to kill himself.
This case highlights the challenges and emotional turmoil faced by individuals in similar situations, emphasizing the need for transparency and honesty in marital relationships.
