In an incident that seems like something out of a movie, a woman who was declared dead 7 years ago has been found alive and married in Uttar Pradesh. The surprising discovery was made while a man has been serving a jail sentence for allegedly “murdering” her.
According to the police, the woman reportedly ran away with her lover and got married. The couple eventually settled in Hathras district. The case took a turn when Vishnu’s mother, who had been fighting for justice for her son, claimed that she had evidence proving the woman was alive.
Vishnu had been accused of kidnapping and killing the woman when she was a teenager. His mother brought the matter to the attention of the Aligarh Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kalanidhi Naithani, who ordered a new investigation. This led to the revelation that the “dead” woman was indeed alive and living with her husband and children.
Seven years ago, the woman’s father had mistakenly identified an unknown body in Agra as his daughter, leading to the wrongful conviction. The police have now presented the woman in Aligarh court and requested a DNA test to confirm her identity. Despite the shock, the woman’s father has identified her as his daughter.
