Woman Booked for Public Indecency in Mumbai Residential Complex
A woman and her male host have been booked by the police for public indecency in a Santacruz residential society in Mumbai. The incident, which took place last week, came to light after residents reviewed CCTV footage.
According to the complaint filed by residents of Raman SRA CHS in Vakola, a female guest of a fifth-floor resident was seen roaming naked in the building at night and allegedly engaging in obscene acts. The host was aware of her actions but did not intervene.
Incident Caught on CCTV
The matter surfaced when society members checked CCTV footage while investigating a missing electric bulb near the lift. The footage showed the woman stepping out of a flat without clothes around 11:30 PM on Monday.
At the time, the male host was inside the flat with another male friend. Residents alleged that the man had been bringing unknown women to the apartment for years, despite being warned against it.
Repeated Complaints Against the Host
Residents claimed that this was not the first time the host had been involved in inappropriate activities. He lived in another building with his family but frequently visited this apartment with different female guests. Previous complaints of obscenity had been ignored, but society members refused to overlook a woman performing indecent acts in common areas.
Legal Action Taken
Following complaints, the Mumbai police booked both the host and the woman under Section 294 (performing obscene acts in public) and Section 114 (abetment) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
The investigation is ongoing, and further action will be taken based on police findings.
