In a heartbreaking incident from 2020, a 25-year-old woman in Aligarh’s Rampus village allegedly beat her six-month-old daughter to death. The tragedy occurred after her husband refused to buy new clothes for Holi, citing illness.
The Incident
The accused, identified as Pinky Sharma, got into an argument with her husband, Rahul, when he declined to purchase new clothes for her and their children. Frustrated by the dispute, Pinky reportedly vented her anger on her infant daughter, Soni, beating her severely, which led to the baby’s death.
Legal Action
Rahul filed a police complaint, and Pinky has been arrested under Section 302 (murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The incident has been registered at Jawan Police Station.
Police Statement
Station in-charge Naresh Kumar Singh stated that during interrogation, Pinky claimed she did not intend to kill her daughter. She admitted to being overwhelmed by ongoing domestic disputes and venting her frustration on her baby.
Family Details
Pinky and Rahul also have a four-year-old son, Rishabh, who remains in the custody of the father.
