Traffic Cop Attacked by Two Women in Delhi After Issuing Challan

In Delhi, a traffic policeman was attacked by two women and a man after he stopped them for breaking traffic rules. The incident happened on Deoli Road around 10 a.m. when the traffic cop was managing traffic along with a constable.

The police said the scooter was being ridden by three people on the wrong side of the road, and none of them were wearing helmets, which are mandatory in Delhi. When the cop stopped them, an argument broke out. One of the women got angry when the cop tried to issue a challan and called a tow crane for the scooter.

The situation quickly got out of control. The woman reportedly hit the traffic officer, and during the scuffle, she fell. Locals nearby saw the incident and began attacking the traffic cop. A video of the event shows the woman accusing the cop of taking her scooter keys. She and two others can be seen chasing and hitting the policeman, who tries to run away.

The traffic inspector involved has been identified as Rajendra Prasad. Six people, including the two women involved, have been detained in connection with the incident.

The police are investigating the matter further.
