Woman Accused of Posting Obscene Photos on Ex-Partner’s Daughter’s School Website

A 42-year-old woman in Mumbai is under investigation after allegedly posting explicit photos of her former partner on his 14-year-old daughter’s school website. This act was reportedly a revenge move after their breakup.

This week, a sessions court denied her anticipatory bail, noting that discovering such photos of her father on the school’s official website must have been deeply distressing for the young girl.

The man involved reported that he met the woman at a gym in south Mumbai and they began an affair. Despite knowing he was married and had a daughter, the relationship continued for some time. During their affair, the man reportedly gave her expensive gifts, including three diamond rings and a watch. Tensions arose when the woman pressured him to divorce his wife and marry her. The man stated that their relationship became tumultuous, with the woman blackmailing him using intimate photos. He claimed to have attempted to end contact by changing his phone number three times, but the woman persisted in contacting him and even visited his home. Following her alleged act of posting the photos on the school website, he reported the incident to the police.

The woman has been charged with several IPC offences and violations under the Information Technology Act. The court emphasized that while the individuals may have personal disputes, the woman’s actions were unacceptable as they disturbed the peace of the man’s family, especially impacting the child’s future and well-being.

The court expressed concerns that granting bail could hinder the investigation and potentially lead to further harm.
