Mother Throws 6 Children into Well After Family Dispute in Maharashtra
In a shocking and heartbreaking incident from Kharavali village, located in Mahad taluka, Maharashtra, a 30-year-old woman named Runa Sahani allegedly threw her six children into a well, leading to their tragic deaths.
The incident happened around 100 km from Mumbai, during the afternoon. According to the police, Runa took this extreme step after she was allegedly beaten by some family members of her husband.
Runa, originally from Uttar Pradesh, had been living in Maharashtra for the past 10 to 12 years. Her husband works as a mason, and the place where the crime took place reportedly belonged to her husband’s former employer.
That evening, the employer saw her near the well and asked her what had happened. She then confessed that she had thrown her six children into the well. The police were immediately informed.
Tragically, the bodies of all six children were recovered from the well. The children were identified as:
- Roshni, 10 years old
- Karishma, 8
- Vidya, 7
- Reshma, 6
- Shivraj, 3
- Radha, 1.5 years old
The police say that it is not yet fully clear why Runa did this, but they confirmed that she had a serious fight with her husband the day before the incident. Runa has now been arrested and charged with murder.
This tragic case has shocked the local community and raised serious questions about domestic violence and mental health support for women facing abuse.
