Man Dies by Suicide After Lover Slaps Him Over Money Dispute
A tragic incident unfolded in Ludhiana, Punjab, where a man reportedly died by suicide after being slapped by his lover during an argument over money. The police have arrested the woman, identified as Rajwinder Kaur from Ranwan village, in connection with the case.
The deceased, Gurdeep Singh (30), was working in Dubai before returning to India about two and a half years ago. According to his father, Nachhatar Singh, Gurdeep was in a relationship with Rajwinder Kaur and used to send her money while he was abroad. Over time, he reportedly gave her around ₹1.20 lakh.
When Gurdeep asked Rajwinder to return the money, she allegedly argued with him. On the morning of September 28, Gurdeep went to her house to request repayment. Shortly after, Rajwinder came to Gurdeep’s house, where she reportedly grabbed him by the neck, slapped him, and verbally abused him, denying she owed him any money.
The incident deeply upset Gurdeep, who reportedly expressed feeling insulted. That evening, he consumed a poisonous substance. Gurdeep’s father rushed him to Ludhiana’s CMC Hospital, but he succumbed to the poisoning.
The police from Machhiwara station initiated an investigation after being informed of the incident. Gurdeep’s body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, and Rajwinder Kaur has been arrested on charges of abetment to suicide.
This incident highlights the emotional toll of unresolved disputes and the need for healthy conflict resolution in relationships.
