Man Beaten for Taking a Selfie with Female Colleague in Assam

In a shocking incident from Baksa district in Assam, a 23-year-old man named Jyotish Das was beaten up for taking a selfie with his female assistant.

Jyotish has been working as a computer teacher at a private training center for the past 10 months. On May 23, 2020, some members of the All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) went to his office, confiscated his phone, and took him to their office.

They questioned him about taking a selfie with a girl from the Bodo community. Jyotish explained that the girl was his friend, and they had only shared friendly messages. He even showed them the messages as proof. However, despite that, he was beaten even more.

Mother Steps In

Later, Jyotish’s mother arrived and rescued him from the situation. It was later found out that a boy from the Bodo community liked the girl and had suspected her of having a relationship with Jyotish. This suspicion sparked the incident.

The boy’s family has now filed an FIR against the attackers, seeking legal action.
