In a shocking incident, a woman from Nashik, Maharashtra, has been arrested for killing her 3-month-old daughter. The motive behind this tragic act was her dislike for comments about the baby’s resemblance to her husband, according to an official statement released on Wednesday.
The mother, who lives in the Gangapur Shivar area, initially claimed that an unknown woman entered their home on Monday evening, made her unconscious with a chemical, and then slit her daughter’s throat. However, CCTV footage and other evidence contradicted her story, revealing inconsistencies in the statements provided by her and her relatives.
Upon further questioning by the police, the woman confessed to killing her child. She admitted that she was deeply upset by her in-laws’ frequent remarks about how the baby looked like her husband.
Police investigations into the case are ongoing.
