In a tragic incident in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, a 30-year-old lawyer named Ratnesh Valmiki reportedly took his own life last week, leaving behind a deeply emotional four-page suicide note. In the note, he blamed his wife and mother-in-law for pushing him to take this drastic step.
Ratnesh lived with his parents, wife, three-year-old daughter, and two brothers in the Mehendi Tola area of Aliganj. The incident came to light when his mother, Manju, knocked on his door but received no response. She then asked her eldest son, Mukesh, to break open the door, only to find Ratnesh hanging from the window grill with a saree tied around his neck.
The police were immediately informed, and Ratnesh was rushed to the nearest hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival.
In the suicide note, Ratnesh wrote, “Papa, I love you. In the next birth, I will do something meaningful. Please forgive me. My wife and her mother are responsible for my taking this extreme step.”
Syed Abbas Ali, Additional Commissioner of Police (ACP) of Aliganj, stated that handwriting experts would examine the note to confirm its authenticity. The police have also recorded statements from family members to understand the reasons behind Ratnesh’s decision. ACP Ali added that further legal action would be taken if any complaints are filed regarding the incident.
