ITBP Constable Dies by Suicide in Delhi Over Marital Issues
A 33-year-old constable of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) allegedly died by suicide in Delhi’s Chanakyapuri area on February 20. The officer was identified as Yogeshwar Reddy, a resident of Bellary, Karnataka.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Deepak Yadav, Yogeshwar was posted at Nehru Taramandal in Chanakyapuri. He reportedly used his service weapon to shoot himself in the chest.
Police said Yogeshwar had recently returned from leave on February 5. During the investigation, a suicide note was recovered from his cupboard, though its contents have not been officially disclosed. An officer mentioned that the suspected reason behind the suicide was ongoing marital discord.
The case is under investigation, and further details are awaited.
