Husband Dies by Suicide After Alleged Harassment by Wife and In-Laws, FIR Filed

A 25-year-old man named Ashish tragically ended his life by consuming poison after enduring alleged harassment from his wife and her family. The incident took place in Ganaur, Sonipat, Haryana. Ashish was rushed to Khanpur PGI in a critical condition, but despite efforts, he passed away during treatment.

Ashish’s father claimed that his wife had left for her parental home and refused to return for over three months. She allegedly threatened Ashish with false accusations of rape and dowry demands. The situation escalated when her family threatened him on Sunday, after which Ashish consumed poison.

The family also claimed that Ashish faced constant mental harassment whenever he tried to bring his wife back from her parental home. He was allegedly threatened with being falsely implicated in criminal cases, which caused him significant distress.

Ashish and Himanshi were married on April 20, 2022. According to Ashish’s father, Krishna Kumar, his son was harassed not only by his wife, but also by her parents, Annu and Rakesh, her grandmother Murthy, and her brother Shankar. Ashish was reportedly abused by the family whenever he visited to bring Himanshi home, and she consistently refused to come back.

On the afternoon of the incident, Himanshi’s father, brother, and grandmother visited Ashish’s home and allegedly threatened him. Later that evening, Ashish consumed poison.

The police have registered an FIR against Ashish’s wife and her family. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are awaited.
