Haryana Woman Throws Acid on Man After Marriage Proposal Rejection
In a shocking incident from Haryana, a woman allegedly threw acid on a man after he rejected her marriage proposal. The incident occurred on Wednesday when the victim, Shyam Singh, went to a shop in Mayur Vihar Colony to buy milk.
Reports reveal that the woman wanted to marry Shyam, but he and his family were against the idea. Enraged by the rejection, she attacked him with a five-liter can of acid.
Shyam, a 25-year-old from Bahadurgarh in Jhajjar district, suffered severe burns and is currently in critical condition in the ICU of a private hospital. His aunt, with whom he lives, has filed a police complaint against the accused.
Background of the Incident
Shyam lost his parents a few years ago and has been living with his aunt. He works at a company near the accused woman’s village in Gohana. According to his aunt, the woman frequently called Shyam and later came to their home with her mother, proposing marriage.
However, Shyam’s family discovered that the woman was already married and living separately from her husband. After learning this, Shyam declined her proposal, but the woman continued to contact him. She even threatened him, saying that if he didn’t marry her, she would not let him marry anyone else.
On the day of the incident, Shyam’s aunt had advised him to stay home after learning about the threats. Despite this, Shyam went out to run errands. That evening, the woman attacked him with acid while he was buying milk, causing burns on his arms, legs, neck, back, and mouth.
Police Investigation
Virendra Rao, DSP City, stated that the police are investigating the case and working to arrest the accused. He assured that strict action will be taken against her.
