On June 12 of last year, a resident of Ghaziabad lodged a police complaint alleging that his wife and their family mixed menstrual blood into his food. He also claimed that he fell ill after eating this tainted food and submitted medical reports as evidence.
The complainant married in 2015, and the couple has a son. They lived with the husband’s parents, but tension arose when the wife continuously pressured him to move out. The situation worsened, leading to frequent arguments over minor issues.
As the disputes intensified, the husband’s parents eventually moved out. The complainant then accused his wife of putting menstrual blood in their evening meals. He also alleged that he recorded a conversation between his wife and her mother discussing this act. According to the complaint, the wife’s family, including her parents and brother, were allegedly involved in poisoning the food and encouraging her to use witchcraft against him.
In response, a four-member medical board has been established to investigate the claims. The board, formed at the police’s request, includes a General Physician, Gynecologist, Pathologist, and Orthopedic Surgeon. They will review the medical reports provided by the complainant to determine the validity of the allegations.
