Harish Yadav, a former police inspector from Bhopal, has been suspended for his involvement in a scheme that falsely implicated people in rape cases and extorted money from them. The complaint against Yadav and three police constables alleged that they used a woman to blackmail individuals by fabricating rape charges.
An investigation into the matter revealed that the inspector, constables, and the woman were all involved in these criminal activities. On January 24, 2022, Yadav, who was previously in charge of the Ayodhya Nagar police station, was suspended for his role in the scandal.
The police inquiry found that approximately 10 fake rape cases were filed by the accused officers. Three of the constables were already imprisoned and dismissed from their positions. Yadav was transferred to Sagar district in Madhya Pradesh as part of the disciplinary actions.
Reports indicated that the woman involved set up a sex racket to lure victims. Once trapped, the victims were demanded to pay money to avoid arrest. If they did not pay, the police would raid their premises, arrest them, and the woman would then accuse them of rape.
