In Sultanpuri, Delhi, a domestic altercation escalated dramatically when a woman allegedly bit off her husband’s right ear in a fit of rage. The incident occurred on Sunday, resulting in the 45-year-old victim requiring surgery.
The husband reported to authorities that his wife’s bite had severed the top part of his right ear, necessitating immediate medical attention. Following the surgery, he filed a complaint against his wife.
The victim recounted, “I went to throw garbage outside my house around 9:20 am on November 20. I asked my wife to clean the house. When I returned, my wife started arguing with me over an unknown issue.”
He further explained that his wife demanded he sell the house and give her a share so she could live separately with their children. “I tried to reason with her, but the argument escalated. She attempted to hit me, but I pushed her away. As I was leaving the house, she grabbed me from behind and, in a fit of rage, bit my right ear so hard that the upper portion was severed. My son took me to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri for treatment.”
The police received information about the attack from the hospital on November 20 and dispatched a team to investigate. A senior police officer stated, “The victim was unwell and unable to give his statement initially. He requested to visit the police station later. On November 22, he approached us and provided a written complaint. We have registered an FIR, and further investigation is underway.”
An FIR has been filed against the woman under Section 324 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which pertains to voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
