Cops Bring Bulldozer to In-Laws’ House to Ensure Woman’s Safety in Bijnor

In a bizarre incident in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, police officers used an unconventional method to ensure a woman’s safety. On Monday, after a court order, they brought a bulldozer to her in-laws’ house when they refused to let her inside.

The woman, Nutan, married Robin, the son of Devendra Singh, five years ago. According to her father, Sher Singh, Nutan’s in-laws began abusing her shortly after marriage and began demanding dowry. After enduring this mistreatment, Nutan was allegedly thrown out of her in-laws’ house.

On June 23, 2019, Nutan’s father filed a case against her husband under the Domestic Violence Act at the Haldaur police station. Following the complaint, the Allahabad High Court ordered the District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) of Bijnor to allow Nutan entry into her in-laws’ house and provide her with proper security.

However, when the police arrived with Nutan at the in-laws’ house, the doors were not opened despite repeated attempts by the authorities. To enforce the court’s order, the police decided to bring a bulldozer. Upon seeing the bulldozer approaching, Nutan’s in-laws finally opened the door and allowed her inside.

The City SP, Dr. Pravin Ranjan Singh, confirmed that the woman was safely escorted into the house and that security arrangements were made for her safety. The police followed the court’s orders to ensure Nutan’s well-being.

This unusual incident in Bijnor highlights the lengths law enforcement may go to when ensuring the safety of individuals, especially in cases involving domestic violence and legal orders.
