In a shocking road rage incident in Bengaluru, a woman allegedly dragged a man on the bonnet of her SUV for over 3 kilometers. The dramatic scene unfolded around 10:15 AM on Friday near Ullal Main Road, close to Jnanabharathi.
The Bengaluru Police arrested the woman, identified as Priyanka, after a 29-year-old man named Darshan S filed a complaint. According to Darshan, he was driving a Maruti Swift when he confronted Priyanka for allegedly jumping a red signal in her Tata Nexon. He claimed she responded with abusive gestures and words.
Darshan said he followed her vehicle and blocked it to question her. At that point, he alleged that someone tore his shirt and attacked him. When police arrived and asked both parties to come to the station, Priyanka refused and sat inside her car. As Darshan stood in front to stop her from leaving, she allegedly drove off, causing him to fall on the bonnet. He was reportedly dragged for 3 to 4 kilometers before locals intervened and stopped the vehicle.
Based on his complaint, a case has been filed against Priyanka, her husband Pramod, and her friend Nithish under multiple IPC sections, including:
- Section 307 – Attempt to murder
- Section 279 – Rash driving
- Section 323 – Causing hurt
- Section 506 – Criminal intimidation
Meanwhile, Priyanka’s husband Pramod filed a counter-complaint stating that Darshan misbehaved, tried to pull Priyanka’s clothes, and attempted to break the car windows. He claimed that in fear, they drove away while Darshan jumped onto the car. They only stopped near Sankalpa Hospital.
In response, Darshan has also been booked under several serious sections of the IPC, including:
- Section 354B – Assault with intent to disrobe a woman
- Section 354 – Outraging modesty of a woman
- Section 427 – Mischief

- Sections 323 & 324 – Causing hurt
- Section 504 – Intentional insult to provoke breach of peace
