In a shocking case from Jalandhar, Punjab, a factory worker has alleged that four women kidnapped and sexually assaulted him overnight before abandoning him on the road.
According to the victim, the incident took place on Sunday night while he was returning home from work. The man claimed that the four women approached him near Leather Complex Road in a car and asked for directions. While he was helping them, they allegedly made him inhale a substance that caused him to lose consciousness.
The man said that when he regained consciousness, he found himself tied with a rope and without clothes in an unknown location. He alleged that the women, believed to be between 22 and 23 years old, kept him hostage for nearly 11 to 12 hours, during which they had non-consensual physical relations with him.
At around 3 am, the women allegedly left him on the road and fled the scene. The incident came to light only after the man shared his story with the media. He has, however, not filed a police complaint, citing fear and embarrassment.
Gagandeep Singh Sekhon, in-charge of Thana Basti Bawa police station, confirmed that no official complaint has been registered yet. He stated that police will take action once the man formally files a case.
The authorities have urged the man to come forward so that a proper investigation can begin.
This incident has raised serious concerns and highlights the need for support systems for male victims of sexual assault, which often go unreported due to social stigma.
