Pune Court Orders Woman to Pay Rs 50,000 Alimony to Husband in Divorce Case

In a notable divorce case from Pune, a local court has ordered a woman to pay Rs 50,000 as permanent alimony to her husband. The couple, married in 2018, had been living separately due to ideological differences.

The 33-year-old woman holds an M.Tech degree, while her 38-year-old husband is a B.Tech graduate. The husband initially filed for alimony in March 2022, followed by the wife submitting her own alimony claim. However, during the court proceedings, it was revealed that the documents provided by the wife were fake and misleading.

The case was overseen by Civil Judge S. V. Phulbandhe, who ruled that the wife must pay Rs 50,000 to her husband as permanent alimony. The court concluded that the wife’s claims were baseless, and her fraudulent documentation influenced the final judgment.

This verdict is significant as it challenges the common perception that only husbands pay alimony. It highlights the necessity for honesty in court proceedings and demonstrates the legal consequences of submitting false documents.

The decision underlines the importance of transparency and fairness in the judicial system. It serves as a reminder that integrity and truthfulness are essential for justice to prevail in any legal matter.
