Six Children Die After Mother Throws Them into Well
Mothers are often seen as life-givers, nurturing and protecting their children. However, in a horrifying incident from Maharashtra, a mother became the cause of her six children’s death by throwing them into a well after a marital dispute.
Tragic Incident in Kharavali Village
This shocking event occurred in Kharavali village, Mahad taluka, approximately 100 km from Mumbai, in the afternoon. The 30-year-old mother, Runa Sahani, reportedly took this extreme step after being allegedly beaten by her husband’s family members.
Details of the Incident
Runa Sahani, originally from Uttar Pradesh, has been living in Maharashtra for the past ten to twelve years with her husband, who works as a mason. The incident took place at her husband’s previous employer’s property. In the evening, the employer noticed Runa near the well and questioned her. She then confessed to throwing her children into the well.
Recovery and Investigation
The police were immediately informed, and the bodies of the six children—Roshni (10), Karishma (8), Reshma (6), Vidya (7), Shivraj (3), and Radha (1.5)—were recovered from the well. The police are still unclear about the exact motive behind this extreme action but mentioned that Runa had a fight with her husband a day before the incident. She has been arrested and charged with murder.
