Maharashtra Woman Arrested for Killing Husband After Daughter Discovers Audio Confession

A woman from Maharashtra’s Chandrapur district has been arrested for killing her husband, three months after his death was initially reported as a heart attack. The shocking truth came to light when the couple’s daughter, Shweta, found an audio recording of her mother confessing to the murder.

According to the police, Ranjana Ramteke, the wife of a retired government officer, killed her husband on August 6 while he was asleep. Shortly after the murder, Ranjana made a phone call to her lover, Mukesh Trivedi, and casually confessed to suffocating her husband with a pillow. She told Mukesh that she would inform their relatives the next morning, falsely claiming that her husband had died of a heart attack.

The next day, Ranjana called her relatives, who had no reason to doubt her story. The husband was cremated, and for three months, Ranjana’s plan went undetected.

However, everything unraveled when Ranjana’s daughter, Shweta, visited her and borrowed her phone to make a call. Shweta stumbled upon the audio recording of the conversation between her mother and Mukesh. In the recording, Ranjana described how she killed her husband and planned to stage it as a natural death. Shocked by the discovery, Shweta immediately reported it to the police.

“Shweta came to us with the audio recording, where her mother is heard discussing the murder with her lover. After confronting Ranjana and Mukesh with the evidence, they both confessed to the crime,” a senior police officer stated.

The police arrested both Ranjana and Mukesh, and the case is under further investigation.
