Woman Arrested for Killing Former Lover, Dismembering and Dumping Body in Chennai
In a shocking incident, a 39-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly murdering her former lover, dismembering his body, and disposing of the remains in Kovalam, on the outskirts of Chennai. Police reported that another man assisted her in committing the crime.
Missing Person Report Leads to Investigation The victim’s sister filed a missing person complaint on March 18 after her brother went missing and his phone remained switched off. The Pazhavanthangal police registered an FIR on March 20 and began an investigation. Call recordings and other evidence indicated that the victim had traveled to Pudukkottai to meet the accused, G Bakkiyalakshmi.
Confession Reveals Chilling Details During police questioning, Bakkiyalakshmi initially gave inconsistent statements but later confessed to the murder. The victim, who worked as ground staff at Chennai International Airport, lived with his sister’s family near Nanganallur.
A senior police officer stated, “The woman claimed they had a temple wedding a few years ago but later separated. On March 18, the victim visited her in Pudukkottai, where she allegedly murdered him with the help of another individual.”
Body Disposal and Arrest Police reported that Bakkiyalakshmi dismembered the body, packed the pieces in plastic bags, and transported them to Kovalam. She used both a public bus and a rental cab to dump the remains.
Authorities are still gathering full details of the incident. The woman has been arrested, and further investigations are underway.
