Woman Judge Accused of Harassing Male Court Staff and Using Abusive Language

Woman Judge Accused of Harassing Male Court Staff and Abusing Him Verbally

In a shocking incident from 2015, a male court staff member accused a woman trial court judge in New Delhi of severe harassment and verbal abuse. The man alleged that the judge not only mistreated him but also told him to commit suicide. The complainant, reportedly suffering from depression, filed a formal complaint with the district and sessions judge (headquarters) at Tis Hazari Courts, outlining multiple instances of harassment.

Allegations of Verbal Abuse and Harassment

The complaint states that the judge repeatedly abused the man and ordered him to stand inside her chamber for hours. When he pleaded with her to stop the abuse, she allegedly told him to “jump from the building and commit suicide.” She even compared his situation to a previous court staff member who had reportedly attempted suicide, saying that he “deserved the same fate.”

The man alleged that the judge had been abusive towards him from the very first day of his posting in 2014. The complaint detailed instances where she used “filthy and abusive language” both in open court and inside her chamber.

Traumatic Incident in September 2015

On September 16, 2015, the complainant said the judge’s behavior “crossed all boundaries of decency.” According to him, the judge called him into her chamber, where she used extremely demeaning and offensive language. When he requested her to stop, she allegedly opened the chamber window and asked him to jump out and end his life. The man said he felt so unwell after the incident that he had to seek medical treatment.

In his complaint dated September 17, 2015, he described the incident as traumatizing and requested the transfer of the Metropolitan Magistrate. He also sought a personal hearing to narrate his ordeal.
