In Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, a 28-year-old woman named Aarti Rajput was sent to jail after she beat up her younger brother for stopping her from making Instagram reels.
The incident happened when her teenage brother objected to her continuous filming. Aarti, reportedly addicted to social media, got angry, assaulted him, and even tried to strangle him. The boy then went to the local police station and filed a complaint against her.
When female police officers visited their home to investigate, Aarti fought with them and used abusive language. She was then taken into custody, but she continued to misbehave and insult the police at the station.
Based on the brother’s complaint and her behavior with the police, multiple charges were filed against her under Indian Penal Code Sections 323, 504, 506, 332, 352, 353, 186, and 224.
The case highlights growing concerns about social media addiction and its impact on family relationships and behavior. The police have confirmed further investigation is underway.
