Woman Climbs Tower in Uttar Pradesh, Demands Boyfriend Marries Her
A dramatic scene unfolded in Uttar Pradesh’s Maharajganj district when a 20-year-old woman climbed a 50-metre-high mobile tower to pressure her boyfriend into marrying her. The incident happened near the Semra Raja toll plaza and attracted a huge crowd, causing traffic problems on the nearby highway.
Onlookers quickly gathered and many recorded videos of the event on their mobile phones. Police had to step in to control the crowd and manage the situation.
According to Circle Officer Ajay Singh Chauhan, the woman had been in a relationship with a 24-year-old local man for the past two years. She wanted to marry him but claimed he and his family were not agreeing.
At first, police tried to convince the woman to come down. When she refused, a brave constable climbed the tower and brought her down safely.
The woman said her boyfriend, a truck driver, had recently gone missing. His family claimed he had gone to Nepal for a delivery. Police confirmed that a case under IPC Section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) has been filed against the man. They also mentioned that legal action will be taken against the woman for her risky public act.
This unusual love protest has sparked conversations both online and offline about relationships and public behavior.
