A woman from Thailand, Pattheema Chamnan, 44, has taken an unconventional step to ensure her husband’s happiness. Living in Bangkok, Pattheema recently made headlines for hiring a “beautiful and educated” mistress to care for her husband, offering a salary of 15,000 baht (₹33,800).
Pattheema revealed that due to her chronic depression, she has been unable to maintain an intimate relationship with her husband, which makes her feel like a bad wife. To solve this, she posted a video advertisement looking for young, single women with a college degree to fill the role of a mistress. She plans to hire three mistresses in total.
“I want to hire three mistresses for my husband. The job includes a monthly salary of at least 15,000 baht, free accommodation, and meals,” she said in the video. “Two will help with office work, while one will assist in taking care of my husband, me, and our child. My husband works hard, and I want him to be happy. I also want to have friends around the house, so it benefits me as well. Candidates should be presentable and good communicators, and they must not have children as that could be burdensome. I promise there won’t be any fights between us,” she added.
Chamnan opened up about her struggle with chronic depression, which she says is the driving force behind her decision. She admitted feeling unable to properly care for her husband, which led her to this arrangement. “I haven’t been sleeping with him, and I feel like I’m failing as a wife,” she shared in an interview with ‘Mirror’.
Her husband, Pattagorn, was surprised when he discovered the ad going viral on social media.
