Mumbai Woman Arrested for Allegedly Killing Jobless Husband After Lockdown

In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman from Mumbai was arrested for allegedly killing her husband, who lost his job due to the 2020 lockdown. The tragic event came to light on May 18, when Arun Maurya, a 29-year-old technician at a Goregaon factory, suddenly vomited blood. His wife, Kavita, immediately called neighbors for help and rushed him to the hospital, but unfortunately, Arun passed away.

Initially, the Boisar MIDC police registered the case as an accidental death after Kavita informed them that her husband had been unwell for several days. However, the autopsy report revealed a different story, showing that Arun had died due to severe abdominal injuries. This discovery led the police to further investigate the case.

Upon examining Arun’s cellphone, the police found video evidence that Kavita had been physically assaulting him since May 14. Arun had secretly recorded these assaults by leaving his phone’s video camera on and placing it on a window. The videos captured Kavita’s violent behavior, including the fatal assault on May 18.

Kavita reportedly mentally tortured Arun for being jobless and even accused him of having extramarital affairs, which may have contributed to her violent actions.
