38-Year-Old Man Sets Himself on Fire Outside Karnataka Police Station
In a tragic incident, a 38-year-old man named Ratesh died after setting himself on fire outside the Jigani police station near Hebbagodi, Karnataka. The incident took place on August 25, following a heated argument with his wife, Kavitha.
Ratesh, who worked at a private company in the Jigani Industrial area, was married to Kavitha for 10 years. However, the couple had been experiencing marital issues for the past five years due to frequent disagreements.
On the day of the incident, Ratesh and Kavitha had another argument. Frustrated, Kavitha called her father and went to the Jigani police station to file a complaint against her husband. Ratesh followed her there, and in an act of despair, he poured petrol on himself and set himself ablaze after parking his bike outside the police station.
The police immediately extinguished the fire and rushed Ratesh to the hospital. Unfortunately, he had sustained severe burns covering over 80% of his body and succumbed to his injuries later.
Ratesh originally hailed from Chikkamagaluru. This incident highlights the need for mental health support and better communication in relationships to prevent such tragedies.
