Man Murders Wife During Divorce Counselling at Bengaluru Family Court

Man Murders Wife with Machete at Bengaluru Family Court During Divorce Counselling

In a shocking incident, a man murdered his wife at a family court in Karnataka during a counselling session for their divorce. The couple had initially agreed to reconcile and save their seven-year marriage but tragedy struck shortly afterward.

Shivakumar attacked his wife, Chaitra, outside the counselling room at the Holenarasipura family court in Hassan district. As Chaitra stepped out of the session, Shivakumar followed her to the washroom and slit her throat with a machete, leaving her bleeding heavily. Bystanders overpowered Shivakumar as he tried to flee and handed him over to the police.

Chaitra was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

The police have charged Shivakumar with murder and are investigating how he managed to bring the weapon into the court premises. Hariram Shankar, a senior police official, stated, “The incident occurred within the court premises. We have taken the accused into custody and seized the weapon. The investigation will uncover whether this was a premeditated act and how the weapon was smuggled into the court.”

This tragic event has raised concerns about security protocols in public spaces like courtrooms.
