In a bizarre incident from Mau, Uttar Pradesh, a 42-year-old man named Ram Pravesh has been living on an 80-foot-tall palm tree for the past month to avoid regular arguments and fights with his wife.
According to local reports, Ram Pravesh has been in conflict with his wife for the past six months. Tired of the ongoing tension, he decided to move to the top of a palm tree, where he has been staying ever since.
His family sends him food and water by tying them to a rope, which Ram pulls up from above. He only comes down late at night to use the washroom and immediately climbs back up.
Villagers have tried to convince him to come down, but he has refused to leave the tree. Some residents, especially women, have raised privacy concerns, saying he can see into nearby homes, which makes them uncomfortable.
Village head Deepak Kumar said that multiple complaints were made, and the police visited the spot. “They took a video and left,” he added.
Ram’s father, Shrikishun Ram, shared that people from neighboring areas come daily to watch the strange sight.
The situation has drawn attention for its odd nature and the serious underlying issue of domestic conflict, which led to such extreme behavior.
