In Ludhiana, police arrested Rajwinder Kaur of Ranwan village following an abetment to suicide case involving her alleged boyfriend, Gurdeep Singh (30), who tragically took his own life after an altercation. According to Nachhatar Singh, Gurdeep’s father, his son had returned from Dubai two-and-a-half years ago and was in a relationship with Rajwinder, to whom he had reportedly sent Rs 1.20 lakh while abroad.
On September 28, Gurdeep visited Rajwinder’s house to ask for the money back. A heated argument ensued during which Rajwinder allegedly slapped Gurdeep and verbally abused him. Distraught by the incident, Gurdeep later consumed a poisonous substance and was rushed to Ludhiana CMC Hospital, where he passed away.
Upon receiving the report, Machhiwara police initiated an investigation and sent Gurdeep’s body for post-mortem examination to ascertain further details.
