In a disturbing incident from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, a man was brutally assaulted by a group of youths for reportedly kissing his wife in public while bathing on the banks of River Saryu. The incident, captured in a video that has since gone viral on social media, shows the man being dragged out of the river and physically attacked.

The video depicts several youths confronting the couple, dragging the man out of the water, and then verbally and physically assaulting him. Despite efforts by the wife to intervene, she was unable to prevent the attack.

“This vulgarity will not be tolerated in Ayodhya,” one of the youths can be heard saying in the video, reflecting the sentiment of the crowd.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shailesh Pandey, the incident occurred a week ago, and no formal complaint has been filed yet. However, the police are actively trying to identify the individuals involved in the assault. If a complaint is lodged, appropriate legal action will be taken against the attackers, assured the SSP.

The incident has sparked outrage on social media, with many condemning the act of vigilantism and calling for justice for the assaulted man and his wife. The debate continues regarding public display of affection and the role of law enforcement in such incidents.
